Witch and Mini Stitches

Isn't the witch cute? She was sitting outside a charming quilt shop in Round Rock, Texas greeting customers at Halloween time. The quilt shop... Mini-Stitches was in an old house, very quaint but also very well stocked and everything laid out so it was easy to see. The lady ( can't remember her name) was exceptionally helpful and willing to keep DH occupied talking while I shopped. She had lots of quilts on display and had finished almost all of them herself. When I made my purchases and was ready to leave she gave me a home made pin cushion, said she tries to give all her new customers one when they visit the first time. I thought that was so thoughtful. If I am ever in that area again I will definitely go back, and if any of you are near there go check her place out, I think you will be glad you did.
I am still trying to get everything ready to go on our trip, if we just didn't have to wear the clothes we want to take, I would be READY, but it seems we need to dress everyday and only have so many clothes. I was told to take anything we "think" we may need, cause we will probably need it. I guess being gone from winter into summer I will just take most of my clothes and be done with it. I am putting our summer things in a bin and putting that up in the hauler and get what we need on a day to day basis. That way we don't have to carry everything in our daily suitcases. This is really getting to be one big headache, I just want to get on the road and whatever we have we will make do with...* VBS***,or it may be that I have to shop while we are gone*** VVBS****.
I haven't done any real sewing for a while ( did do some mending and cut off 5 pair of Jeans, I don't like that job) Went to Dr. yesterday for a follow up (after surgery in Sept.) and he found another lump, YES another one, this makes several I have had, but this one is pretty large, he said it was about 1.25 inches long and quiet thick and it is definitely attached to my body. When he was examining it and was trying to see if it was attached I was having a fit, That really hurt.
Anyway, I am scheduled for a mammogram and a sono-gram next Tuesday then will go back to the Dr. on the 5th.I really do NOT know what I am going to do about this as we are scheduled to leave here on the 10th. I have called this am, to try to get things moving faster, but so far haven't heard back from the Dr.s office. Maybe they can make my appt.s sooner. I sure hope so, after "sleeping" on all this, I am not happy with the wait. I guess I will have to be patience.
Patience is NOT one of my virtues. As a matter of fact, I have NO patience.
It has been bitterly cold here, yesterday there was ice all over the roads as I was coming from taking my DH to work. It is an hours drive, boy was I glad to see our town, as the ice had not got here yet, as a matter of fact, it never did, for that I was grateful as I had the Dr.s appointment.
I didn't have to go after Dh yesterday evening either and that was a blessing. But he said the roads weren't too bad on the way home.
Dr.s office just called, my appointment has been changed to this Friday am at 8:20, that is good.
but then she told me he wouldn't be able to see me any sooned than Tuesday the 5th, cause he is going to be out of town.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRR, What am I going to do??????????
I hope all of you have a wonderful day, stay warm and do a lot of quilting memories today.
Am going to get off here and try to work on my PATIENCE............ Pray for me, I sure do need it.. J

Traveling and quilty stuff

Blogger is not co-operating with me today, sooooooooo no pictures.............
Just wanted to check in and say thank you to my new blogging friends, Thanks for stopping by.
I went to 2 of our LQS today, One I purchased a new USB stick with clown designs on it and the other store I got 2-- 1/2 yard pieces of fabric. I now have about a dozen kits ready to take with me on our trips. I am getting excited, and want to get on the road, although it is going to be really hard to be away from my children and g-kids for long periods of time. But will adjust.... hubby and I discussed this before he took this job, so I can't complain. We did find out this am that we will have the mid-west run, rather than the West, so will be a little closer to home and we do have extended families in several of the mid-west states. So maybe we will get to visit some while we are gone. I do hope so, some of these people we don't see very often at all.
We found out on Tuesday that our GS and his wife are going to have a baby boy on or about July the 10th. They are really excited, as thay wanted their first child to be a boy, and I have heard rumors that thay want at least 2 more children and maybe one of them will be a girl.
Now I am trying to decide what quilt to make for them, will have to decide pretty soon. If I embroider some designs on the machine I will need to get that done before we leave also, Gosh, I have a lot to do. VBS.....
Hope all of you are having a great day, mine has been good so far, but anytime I find time to go to the LQS, is a good day. We are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow so I will get some of my sewing done then. Have a good one everybody and be sure to keep on Quilting Memories, that always makes my heart sing.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Rolling,Rolling, Rolling, Keep those wheels rolling*****

We're Off, yes we leave on Sunday the 6th. of January. Headed to Daytona Beach, Fl. from there to Orlando and Disney. Will be back the next weekend. Sure hope it is warm down there. Wasn't planning to have to leave until the 13th. of Feb. but tis the nature of the job. Will only take some hand work with me this time as I don't have everything ready. But that is ok, I have plenty of applique to do.

Yesterday I made 6 pillow cases. I had cut out a pair for Christmas and didn't get them sewed, so finished them. Then cut out 4 more, no, they are not pairs. We needed some to carry on our trips, so just used some odd fabrics. We were wearing out the ones that went with my sheet sets. Washing them several times and not having to wash the sheets. This way I will have only ones that we carry on trips. No pictures of them, and hubby is gone and has the camera, maybe next time.

Take care and will be back next week to post again. How about quilting Memories for someone you love this week while I am gone, later, J

Wishes for the New Year

What Do I Wish For The New Year?????
I don't make resolutions, cause I don't keep them, but I do wish for several things to happen in 2008.
1- Safe trips where ever we go
2- To really be able to put in some quality time sewing ( it remains to be seen if I will be able to sew effectively in the trailer as I need to...... Lightning and warmth and so forth... Wish me luck
3- I know hubby well enough, he will try his best to make all the above happen for me, for that I am grateful
4- I want to be able to sew while riding in the truck, before this I have always gotten headaches when I try to do anything while riding. SOOOOO, I am going to start with just a few minutes at a time and work on adding time as I go, again wish me luck.....
5- I want to see new places, maybe go to the New England states and up in New York,Hubby has never wanted to go up there so we haven't. He says he doesn't want to drive in that traffic....
but if the company sends us we will have to.....Yep, that would be good.
6- I know I am going to miss my family terribly..... I pray that I will be ok with being gone for long times (anywhere from 3 to 6 months) , actually I hope we will be able to come home at shorter intervals, so say a prayer for me that I won't drive hubby crazy after we have been gone a while. I keep saying to myself I can do anything for a year, and that is all we were hired for, of course if we want and are able to, I am sure we can do this as long as we want to and our health is good..
7-I also hope our house will be safe, that our daughter and neighbors can look after it and nothing happens ( we were broken into several years ago and you just don't forget that)...That was an awful experience. Very frightening........
8- There are several projects I would like to accompolish. I would like to make some quilt tops, maybe one for each of our children and one to display in our LQS, I already have the fabrics for that one..... The other ones I would like to make from my stash..... I also will have to make a special baby quilt for our GS and GDIL....... I haven't let myself plan that yet, they are planning to try and find out what sex they will be having, so then I will know what I want to do, already have some ideas.......
9- I want our daughter and Grand daughter to be safe and healthy while we are gone as her husband left today going back to China to work for about 4 months, I really hate we are going to be gone most of that time as well. I want also for our GD to do well in school and be a good girl, she gets a little unruleywhen her Dad is gone, so I hope she will listen to her Mom and do as she is told. She really is a good person just can be mouthy at times, I think age has something to do with that as well.12 ( almost 13) is a hard age, I think so anyway....I want our daughter to find things to do that she enjoys and help her to pass the time quickly.
9- I wish for our Son and DIL good health as well, he has some problems, so I hope he can keep all of them in control and be healthy and happy. As far as I know she is healthy.
10- The GS and GDIL that are pregnant, I pray her morning sickness leaves soon and that she will feel good and be healthy the rest of her pregnancy,I want him to be healthy as well and be very supportive to her.......I know in my heart they will be good parents.... They both are good people
11- Our second GS is wanting to become a police officer, I pray he knows what he is wishing for, and if he does accompolish his goal that he will be safe through his career.....That ceratinly is NOT the career I would have chosen for him, I realize someone has to do these jobs and I am sure he will be good at it.......He has a very level head and doesn't get to excited when things are not as they should be, so I do pray about him a lot. But at 23, he thinks he knows what he wants,so I am sure he will have to give this a try.........
12- Hopefully the rest of my extended family will be healthy and happy this year, and some of their wishes will come true as well.
That is a long list for sure, and certainly not quilty, but will get back on here in a few days, as I am getting some things ready to go..... I am going to try to kit a lot of projects, I think I will be more successful doing that.

We got the word yesterday we are going to Orlando, Fl, next week, very short trip, 2 traveling days and one day for the event.........Will be a hard trip, but I keep telling myself that surely it will be warmer there*******VBS**** I sure hope so, it is very cold here....
I hope everyone is staying warm and has started your New Years off Quilting Memories......J
