Hello again.

Hi, Everyone,
I do hope someone is reading this, cause I know I have been gone for quiet a while. It seems sometime life just gets in my way***VBS***....between the holidays, trips (with family and friends) and 2 surgeries, I have been a bit busy. Hopefully things are getting back to normal now, at least for a short while....
One thing I have finally gotten to do is use my embroidery machine.Yes, I started a new baby quilt Tuesday, I am incorporating 20 embroidered designs in it, I have only finished 8 of them. I do plan to try to get the majority of them done tomorrow.Hubby is taking me to the Dr. in the morning then he is going to go to work for a few hours, so I will get busy as soon as he leaves, maybe I won't have any interruptions and can get all my designs finished. That sure would be great. then I will embroider the baby's name and birthdate, then I can get the rest cut out. I plan to take it with me on our trip, all cut out and ready to sew.Doesn't that sound like a great plan ? I sure hope it works that way...he he he.
The above pic is our Grand daughter and her volleyball team.I am not sure when this was taken, but they sure don't look very happy, must have lost that day.........Oh well, win some, loose some....She is on the left, sitting on the floor, with her knee bandaged....
I purchased myself a new sewing machine, picked it up last Sat. it's still in the box.I plan to get it out and up and running one day next week. I do not have room for 2 machines to be set up in my sewing room, and right now, I must embroidery. I gave our Daughter my Pfaff that I have been taking with me on our travels. She has now decided she wants to try her hand at another quilt, so I thought a better machine may help her. Actually, we all know a good sewing machine makes all the difference in our sewing. Unfortunately, she doesn't know that yet, but she will soon see for herself.
I do hope all of you are warm this bitterly cold night. I am certainly glad I was able to get home and snuggled down before the sun set. Hubby is out at a meeting, I will be glad when he gets home and is all snug. He has been so very good to look after me, through both my surgeries.I think sometime we take our spouses for granted ( I know I do), I have had to do NOTHING for so long now, that I am definitely spoiled. Our daughter has been tremendously helpful as well.
I certainly do appreciate all the love and care from them both. As MS. Goodneedle would say,

I have been reading your blogs and sorry I haven't responded very much, but will try to do better. And, as late as it is, I do hope all of you had a great Holiday season and that the New Year is especially good to all of you in 2009.

Great Nephew and Quilt's

These pictures of the baby is of my great nephew, he is so sweet,

as you can see he is learning to feed himself, and having a great time doing so.He was so proud of himself, every time he would get that spoon in his mouth he would just GRIN. We enjoyed being with him and his Mommy and Daddy while we were at Myrtle Beach. His Dad is a Marine and we are so proud of him, he very proudly serves our country. God Bless all our troops, wherever they may be.

The other 2 pics are quilts I have finished while here at home. The Christmas quilt is now quilted and hanging in our LQS.It certainly makes me proud when the owner thinks my work is good enough to display.I know all of these are panels, but I do enjoy making quilts using panels, they are so quick and easy.The 2 with the carriages are for two different little girls, hope they like them. Of course they are too young to know what they like so hope their parents are pleased with them.

I have the fabric ready to make our Great Grandson another quilt and was planning to give it to them for Christmas, but don't know if I will get it done. ( No it's not a panel). I am going to have my shoulder operated on this coming Tuesday. My rotator cuff is torn, so need to get that taken care of. I have been in a LOT of pain, so am looking forward to getting this behind me.

I haven't been on here very much since we got back home, but maybe when I get to feeling better, I can post a little more often.

Hello, Hello

Hope all is having a great day, it's has turned very cold here. I don't like cold weather, actually, cold weather doesn't like me.My arthritis is giving me a fit, and add my fibromyalgia to that and this old girl is pretty miserable. BUT I am sure tomorrow will be a better day.
DH and I met my sister and BIL yesterday in Wytheville, Va. They were looking at some property.Beautiful mountain property, but I sure wouldn't want to live there. It was way back in the mountains. No one has even built on it yet, but I am sure someday it will be a lovely place to live. I have no idea what they have decided to do, but whatever they decide will be a while away. They both are still working and this would be where they retire. I was hoping they would move a lot closer to us, but don't know yet. This is the first place they have looked.
DH and I got there on Saturday evening and I went to Batiks Etcetera &Sew What Fabrics, they are the closest Pfaff dealer around here that I am aware of and I needed 2 feet for the machine I carry with me when I travel.That was all I purchased, I am going to have to sew up some of the fabric I have on hand, my sewing room is full to the brim. I can hardly get around and I can't find any more " spots" to put things.
I think we are probably through working (traveling) until the end of the year so maybe I will get a LOT of sewing done. That is my plan anyway. I have quilted both the baby quilts I made last week, now have to bind them. I plan to have that done and get them in the mail by the end of this week.BUT first, I have a mountain of ironing to do , so I need to get busy TODAY and get that done.

Home again ***VBS***

Now that vacation is over and our work is done ( except for 4 days), maybe I can get busy sewing, and that will be great ***VBS ***,

actually I have sewed a little. But that will be another post,in the next few days.

These are pictures that I made while at Murrell's Inlet,my sister and I went to 3 stores while at Myrtle Beach, and this is the only one that I took pictures of.I didn't have my camera at the first one and the last one didn't allow pics taken. This was a very nice spacious shop, lots of pretties and LOTS of lovely fabrics. I am sure all of you get tired of reading that all the shops are pretty and have nice fabric selections, but after all, that is what quilt shops are all about ***VBS***.

I have been very busy trying to get settled back here, I find myself looking for things that I should remember where I put them, am not sure if it's old age or what, but it is frusterating. Last Wednesday I was going to sew and after I got my machine back out ( I put it up while I was gone) I COULD NOT find the thread caps to my machine, well, I searched for about 30 minutes and decided that I must have lost them, even though I didn't take them with me, but I went in the other room and was doing some other things and all the sudden I remembered exactly where they were. SO, I did get to sew after all.Tomorrow I plan to quilt 2 baby quilts I have put together, I used some panels, so I really didn't MAKE a quilt, but the families that I will give them too, will like them anyway, or so I hope.I also, put together a Christmas throw, and that took a little more time and thought. I put a flange after the panel and it has 5 borders and cornerstones and I appliqued stars on the cornerstones.All in all I was proud of it. I made it for the LQS, hopefully it will meet the owners approval and she will want to display it. We haven't taken pics yet, I want to wait until I get the baby quilts completed. I don't know how much sewing time I will have tomorrow, There is a mountain of laundry to get done. So we will just wait and see, I do have them sandwiched and pinned,I'm happy that is done. That is my least favorite part of making a quilt.

Yes, its 2 stories, with fabric on both,this truly was a great shop.

So glad I got to visit with them myself.

Yesterday, my friend and I went to a Quilt Show, I think one of the guilds here sponsored it. The name of it was Prairie Treasures Quilt Show, unfortunately I have no idea what town I was in, but anyhow it was agreat show, lots of beautiful Quilts, 300 or so and there was 15 vendors. So a really great show, once again I had a great day.....Thanks, Barb, for inviting me.

I guess, Maybe, when we go to the beach next week ( on vacation ***VBS***) there should be a shop or two to check out, but until then, I will be off the net, mostly anyway,cause we are headed home TOMORROW MORNING......YEAH,YEAH.

Hope you ladies are enjoying my quilty show. These are some more pics I took while at Tammy Tadd's shop. The one with black background and candy canes is just inside the door as you enter, I loved it, also under the quilt hanging on the shelf with the fabrics is a cute bag. Great for Halloween season. You can click on any of my pics to enlarge them, and please do, you will see other things that is " hidden" in plain view. If you didn't enlarge the one yesterday of Tammy and me, go back and do so, and look at the quilts hanging, that will also show the enormity of her shop. I do believe that her store was the most cheerful and bright store I have been in , in a long time, maybe ever.She certainly likes pinks, greens and yellows and blues,etc,etc.I also like very bright colors. She has a lot of baby quilts and most of her quilts could be easily used for a baby design. The ladies that were working on Tuesday was great also, very friendly and knowledgeable. Her addy is 920 W. Thats Tammy and me , she was just the sweetest lady, she came from her office upstairs at my request just so I could meet her, even helped me pick some fabric for a girly baby quilt then cut it for me. I think that was so nice for her to do that.

They have lots of FABRIC, notions and classes, but what caught my eye was the decorations she had, her store was pure eye candy,she does know how to display her fabrics and everything.

She designs a lot of quilts and writes books, she also has 5 children, so she is a very busy lady.

I took so many pics that my DH said out card was about out of space, so I may NOT get to take any pics at the quilt show on Saturday,I hate that, but that sort of thing happens sometime.Darn It....***VBG***
